Activate your Toddler

So your baby has gone from crawling to running, and chasing after them can be a full time job. Physical activities with your toddler are a great way to keep your tot both busy and active. Here are some ideas for you and your little one to try throughout the day.
• Dancing: No matter what age, children love to dance! Clear out space in the living room, play some fun music, and dance, dance, dance.
• Musical Chef: Use empty Tupperware, some wooden or plastic spoons, ladles, or spatulas. Set them out on the floor and let your tot rock out.
• Gymnasium: Check your local listings for any local gymnasiums where your toddler can play, jump, and run.
• Public Parks: Playgrounds and parks are suited for all ages. Your toddler is sure to love the swings and slides.
• Balloon Games: Toddlers love balloons and never seem to get enough of them. Blow up a few balloons, toss them around, kick or play catch.
The toddler age can be a trying time, but increasing your child’s activity level can help reduce some “terrible twos” behavior. Keeping yours active in a structured setting is a wise way to implement healthy lifestyle strategies while promoting happy fun.
